Terms & Conditions
Confirmation of your booking
Payment in full is required to guarantee your booking. Your booking is only provisional until full payment has been received.
Cancellation by the client
• If you (the client) give at least six weeks’ notice, Geri will refund your payment in full.
• If you give between two and six weeks’ notice, Geri will refund 50% of your payment.
• If you give less than two weeks’ notice, no refund will be given.
Postponement by the client
You may postpone your booking to another date if you give at least 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellation by Geri
• In the unlikely event that Geri needs to cancel your event, she will endeavour to offer you a later date. However, you need not accept this; Geri will refund your full payment if you prefer.
• Payment in full is required to guarantee your booking. Your booking is only provisional until full payment has been received.
• While Geri will refund what you have paid to her, she is not responsible for any other costs you incur such as for accommodation or transport. We suggest you consider taking out travel insurance.
Poor weather
• Events normally go ahead regardless of rain, wind, cold and heat. It is your responsibility to dress appropriately. On Dartmoor this normally means bringing a waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, warm hat, gloves, warm layers, sunhat and sunscreen; also wearing suitable footwear such as walking boots.
• Geri may modify an event or route depending on the weather conditions.
• Weather conditions will only lead Geri to cancel an event if it would be dangerous to proceed.
Your responsibility with regard to your safety and wellbeing
• See the section on poor weather above for clothing.
• In your booking form you have acknowledged that there is a degree of risk in all outdoor activities.
• You have been asked by email to let Geri know if you have any medical conditions that could affect you while out; this is so that she can provide appropriate first aid should you need it. It is your responsibility to let Geri know about relevant medical conditions either by email or at the start of the event.
• Should you feel unwell prior to the event, and if this might affect your ability to participate safely, do not attend.
• Should you feel unwell, hot, cold, tired, or have any other health concern during the event, let Geri know.
• Follow any instructions Geri gives during the event; their purpose is to keep you and other clients safe.
• Do not leave the event; if you choose to go off alone, you will no longer be Geri’s responsibility. If you accidentally get separated from Geri, wait and she will come to find you.
Geri’s responsibility with regard to your safety and wellbeing
• Geri has a suitable qualification for the event she is leading: this is the Hill & Moorland Leader qualification.
• Geri has a current outdoor first aid certificate.
• Geri has appropriate professional insurance for the events she leads.
• You are welcome to see any of these documents.
• Geri will not disclose any medical information you have given her except to the emergency services in the event of an incident.
Under 18’s
• Bookings for under 18’s must be made by the parent or legal guardian.
• For some events, under 18’s must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian; Geri will let you know if this is required for any particular event.
